Contractors

ZeroHouse Network: contractors.

Cooperation principles

We first clarify specialisation, regions and examples that may be verified. A listing is not a quality guarantee; a recommendation requires separate approval. Commercial placement does not replace technical assessment.

A specialist package still needs boundaries

A contractor may deliver a façade, roof, services installation or another defined package. Before selection, establish where responsibility begins and ends. Substrate preparation, material delivery and reinstating finishes may belong to different participants. If these boundaries remain implicit, omissions often emerge only when activities have become dependent on one another.

Coordinate with adjacent trades

Ask which drawings are required to start, how conflicts are recorded and who approves departures from the design. Specialist work needs agreed dimensions, connection points and tolerances. Completing one package should not conceal another trade's uninspected junction. Request an example of how such an interface was managed, rather than relying only on equipment lists or training certificates that do not describe site coordination.

Define an output that can be accepted

Agree completion evidence: installed scope, measurements where needed, documentation and resolution of observations. “Turnkey” without an itemised scope does not explain whether commissioning or user instruction is included. This Network category helps structure a request; it does not assign a status to an unnamed crew. A directory proposal needs a specialism description and evidence of the participant's role in examples. Work on your property still needs separately agreed conditions and acceptance responsibilities.

Readiness to start

Record the work area’s condition and prerequisites before a specialist begins. An unsuitable substrate should be reported before it is concealed. This helps distinguish a pre-existing defect from a later installation error.
