Look for responsibility across the system
Heating and cooling work may involve equipment sales, design, installation and commissioning. A company may provide only some of these functions, so clarify boundaries before comparing prices. Selecting a heat source without room loads and emitter characteristics is not enough to establish comfort or seasonal consumption. Ask who supplies those missing design inputs.
Request relevant evidence
Useful material includes example schematics, the capacity-assessment method and commissioning scope. For a heat pump, clarify rating conditions, supplementary heat and low-load operation. For cooling, ask about condensate, noise and air distribution. Establish who coordinates the system with electricity, ventilation and architecture. An appliance datasheet is not an acceptance report for the installed system, and photographs alone cannot demonstrate balancing or control performance.
Consider operation after handover
The offer should explain service access, consumables, settings handover and warranty boundaries. Check that occupants receive operating guidance and records of actual settings.
