A backup inverter must supply the required circuits when the grid is absent. A hybrid label alone does not prove that capability.
Power and starting
Sum simultaneous loads and check short motor-start events. Distinguish active power, apparent power and permitted overload duration in the datasheet.
Backup output
Check phase arrangement, backup-output rating and transfer interruption. Pumps, refrigerators and sensitive electronics may have different requirements.
Battery and BMS
Voltage, current limits and communication protocol must be compatible. Check supported batteries, behaviour after communication loss and temperature restrictions.
Sources and protection
Define grid, PV and generator interaction, prevention of unintended backfeed and earthing. A responsible electrical designer must specify transfer arrangements and verify protection in grid and island modes.
Common mistakes
A PV input does not guarantee black start without a battery or grid. Account for inverter self-consumption, winter operation, service access and actual power-restoration behaviour.

What this means for your project
The calculator helps describe loads but cannot select protection or wiring. Give the designer the appliance list and documentation for every source.
