Simplified explanation: envelope performance and whole-building energy are related but distinct assessments. Wall insulation alone cannot establish whole-building compliance.

Whole-building efficiency
Coordinate envelope inputs with ventilation, heating, cooling and occupancy. Changes to windows or equipment after calculation require a model-impact review.

Check layers, thermal boundaries, opening areas and junctions. A common error is copying an old requirements table without checking edition, climate conditions or scope.
