Function and thermal assessment
Verify structural use for the selected product. The thermal assessment needs actual layers, joints and application conditions rather than only advertised dry-material conductivity.
Moisture and airtightness
Consider construction moisture and drying before closing the façade. Define the air barrier and its floor and window connections separately; masonry does not guarantee an airtight assembly.
Bridges and installation
Lintels, ring beams, floor edges and fixings can differ from the main masonry. Check insulation geometry at these locations and fixing suitability for the substrate.
Durability and suitability
The façade needs rain control, compatible layers and repair access. The solution is suitable when the team can deliver a coordinated system; no service-life claim is made without specific evidence.
Common mistakes
Using the lowest catalogue conductivity, unapproved fixings and unprotected wet masonry undermines expectations. Unusual assemblies or conditions need dedicated hygrothermal assessment.
